Everybody in the UK & Ireland complains about the exorbitant cost of dental treatment. Well, you can save up to 80% on the cost of your treatment by travelling to a destination in the sun and have it done with us while you also enjoy a holiday. We are based on the Costa Del Sol, only 10 minutes away from the glamorous Puerto Banus and 15 minutes from Marbella town centre. Malaga airport is just 45 minutes drive away and there are many budget airlines flying there from the UK on a daily basis from various destinations. With flight times to the UK starting from only 2 hours, you really can’t go wrong!
The booking process
The possibility of arranging dental treatment abroad might seem quite daunting, but it really is quite straightforward. If you have any questions or concerns at any point then our English-speaking Patient Co-ordinator will be on hand to assist.
Step One: Get an estimate
You will be contacted by the dentist within 48 hrs.
Step Two: Treatment Plan
Once an estimate has been agreed then we will need to prepare a treatment plan. For small treatments like single veneers, 2/3 unit bridge etc. you have the option of sending more information to the dentist about your case via email: simply take photographs of the left, right and front sides of your teeth. It is important to ‘bare’ your lips when the photograph is taken so that good visibility is achieved. The dentist will consult you about this before hand.
For bigger treatments and for dental implants you may need to see the dentist for a proper consultation. It is possible to fly in and out of Malaga on the same day for this purpose. Our patient co-ordinater will pick you up and drop you back at the airport free of charge. The initial consultation will also be free of charge.
Step three: Arrange your visit
Our patient co-ordinator will call you to arrange dates and times for the treatment. She will also assist you with travel arrangements if you so wish. She can give you advice on a number of airlines flying into Malaga from your home destination and help you with choosing a hotel at a discounted rate, exclusive to International Dental Centre patients. She can also help arrange discounted car hire.
Step four: The treatment
Our patient co-ordinator will pick you up from the airport and deliver you to your hotel for you to settle in. She will pick you up from your hotel for your appointments and drop you back there again afterwards. The rest of your time will be available for you to enjoy the sun, sea and sights of Marbella. After treatment has been completed and your holiday come to a close, she will then pick you up from your hotel again and take you back to the airport.
How long will the treatment take?
One of the top laboratories on the Costa Del Sol (a Swedish company) is directly above our surgery, therefore we are able to secure a very quick turn around time for top quality fixtures. For cosmetic treatments such as veneers, crowns and bridges, we usually aim for 5 working days.
For Dental implant surgery you will need to make a one day visit for the insertion of implant screws and then 4 – 16 weeks later you will need to stay for one week for the technician to prepare a personalised crown / bridge etc.
